iPod Touch 3.0 (and iPhone too I guess)

I've been looking at a number of blogs and how they have been praising Apple for the updates they've announced in iPhone and iPod Touch (iP/iPT) 3.0. Here's a list of what I've seen be announced as being part of the upgrade:
  • Cut and paste
  • GPS and maps updates
  • Peer to Peer connectivity for gaming (bluetooth, iPT?)
  • MMS (not iPT)
  • Voice memos (not iPT)
  • Improved Search
  • Improved Calendar
  • Improved Stocks
  • Multiple mail attachments
  • WiFi auto-login
  • Stereo Bluetooth (will this now be turned on in iPT?)
  • and more....(watch the video for the full list)
Seems like a lot of new stuff.

And then again not.

There's nothing on the list that any sane developer wouldn't have thought to include in the 1.0 version. At the latest the first correction, V1.01. But we have to wait until version 3.0 for these updates. And we iPT owners have the privilege of paying $10 for the upgrade.

It's good that Apple finally caught up with the what other phones already offer.

But honestly, it's about time.
